A haven within the hospital

For the families of critically ill patients at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System Hospital, we have three rooms for families to stay in, called Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. Located just steps away from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Family Rooms provide a place for families to get some well-deserved rest from the hectic PICU while remaining close to their children. There is no charge for the use of these rooms, which are available to parents who have the most critically ill children and are from the farthest away. Once a child stabilizes, the family can leave the hospital and stay at the Ronald McDonald House until discharge.
